Teach Like a Champion

Our training model was developed in part through a partnership with Doug Lemov, author of Teach Like a Champion, and the team at Uncommon Schools, which is a network of high-performing K-12 schools serving low-income and minority students in Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey. As part of our pre-service training curriculum, we have prioritized a series of instructional techniques described in Teach Like a Champion. Throughout pre-service training, teacher candidates will observe and analyze exemplary models of these techniques, rehearse them with peers, receive coaching on them from outstanding EPP instructors, and practice them with actual students in Texas College Preparatory Academies (TCPA) classrooms.

Teach Like a Champion provides educators with a set of techniques, a shared vocabulary, and a framework for practice that equip teachers to achieve dramatic results with their students. Our resources are used by schools throughout the world.
