Core Subjects with Science of Teaching Reading: Early Childhood – Grade 6

Candidates who successfully complete the Core Subjects with Science of Teaching Reading: Early Childhood – Grade 6 program and certification requirements will be able to teach math, science, social studies, English language arts and reading (ELAR), art, health, music, theatre, and/or physical education (PE) for Prekindergarten through 6th grade.

Mathematics 4-8

Mathematics 4-8 candidates who satisfactorily complete the certification and program requirements will be able to teach mathematics in upper elementary and middle school classrooms (grades 4th – 8th).

Science 4-8

Candidates completing the Science 4-8 certification and program requirements will be able to lead science instruction for grades 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and/or 8th grade as a certified Texas teacher.

Dual Certification

All candidates in the program will complete certification requirements for the English as a Second Language (ESL) Supplemental certification in addition to their chosen content-specific certification area.
