If the country in which you obtained your bachelor's degree (and/or higher) is not within the United States of America, you as the applicant must complete an additional action, which includes submitting an original course-by-course evaluation by a TEA-recognized foreign evaluation service.

If the country in which you obtained your bachelor's degree (and/or higher) is not listed within the dropdown menu of specified countries, you as the applicant must complete two additional actions: 1) Submit an original course-by-course evaluation by a TEA-recognized foreign evaluation service and 2) Submit verification of minimum scaled scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT). Please note that countries listed within the dropdown menu are State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) approved countries in which satisfy the English language proficiency requirement specified in 19 TAC §230.11(b)(5)(C) and are exempt from the Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT). If applicants do not have the minimum 15 credit hours in their respective field of certification, they can take the Pre-Admission Content Test (PACT) demonstrating their proficiency within the certification's content area. For Math 4-8, it would be the "715 TX PACT Mathematics: Grades 4-8" and for Science 4-8, it would be the "716 TX PACT Science: Grades 4-8".

This writing sample will serve as part of the selection process for the program and a minimum score on the rubric is required to move forward in the admission process. Collectively, your overall word count for this sample should fall between 500 - 1000 words.
